DIRK Exhaust Hood Case – Sir Horace Kadoorie Youth Development Center

The Kadoorie Charity Foundation, founded by the Kadoorie family, aims to alleviate poverty and fund healthcare, education, community development and environmental protection projects.

In late 2019, the Sir Kadoorie Youth Development Center held its opening ceremony at Noble International Center, Shanghai, where the Sir Horace Kadoorie Hospitality and Mentoring Programme (SHKHMP) would be carried out. The program was launched by the Shanghai K Charitable Foundation, aiming to offer vocational trainings for disadvantaged young people, thereby helping them grow.

There is a cooking training base with modern kitchen equipment in the center, for training students with high-quality teaching resources. A kitchen reminds people of a noisy and stuffy environment with oily fume. A reliable ventilation system was thus needed to ensure students of a good learning experience. After investigations and comparisons, the owner finally chose DIRK Integrated Exhaust Hood.

DIRK boasts a fresh air and position air supply system, which functions to supply fresh air from the outside while discharging the stuffy fume generated in the kitchen, thereby improving the working environment for cooks.

We sent a team of designers to communicate with the customer about all details on the spot. We reserved a gap on the exhaust hood to allow connection of electromechanical pipelines, and set up a complementary plate that connects with the stainless steel sealing plate on the stove. Such an elaborate design improves the appearance of the hood while at the same time eliminating the risk of exposure of gas pipelines, let alone the reduction of dust accumulation and sanitary dead corners due to wrapping of pipelines. As a result, the hood and stove could achieve the optimal effect in use.
