DIRK Exhaust Hood Case – Shanghai SMIC Staff Canteen

Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) is the largest and most advanced integrated circuit manufacturer in Mainland China. SMIC Shanghai is also the headquarters of the group, hence the largest number of employees and more stringent technical requirements. Therefore, safety is rather important for the staff canteen. DIRK hood is equipped with D-HEF mechanical oil filter and imported Barton UV lamp. D-HEF filter with patented “G-Cyclone ” fume separation technique, is capable of separating more than 90% oil and preventing UV-C transmission. The UV lamp holder, using a pull-out guide rail structure, is easy to maintain daily, eliminating the need of disassembly. The lamp refers to customized BATRON UV lamp imported from overseas. Seamless sealing technology is used for the access door to prevent fume and UV leakage. The combination of D-HEF mechanical oil filter and UV lamp can effectively reduce oil deposits in the exhaust duct and lower the risk of fire.

The kitchen is also equipped with the world-leading ANSUL fire extinguishing system, which is able to reduce the temperature of cooking oil or fat below the autoignition temperature in a minute or so, 15 times faster than a traditional wet-type fire extinguishing agent system. In addition, the ANSUL fire extinguishing system features 3 nozzles that allow downward spray, horizontal spray and upward spray to extinguish all possible fire sources without dead angles. The combination of the ANSUL fire extinguishing system and the DIRK hood can more effectively protect the kitchen from fire.

It is also a good choice to place the DIRK hood in an open restaurant. The hood is made of 1.2mm thick 304 stainless steel plate, which, after processing with the ink drawing process, is dirt-proof and fingerprint-resistant on the surface, and is easy to clean. It would certainly make a difference in people’s oily and dirty impression with traditional hoods, brightening up the kitchen in a sense.
